Inversion workshop

with aimee tillman

4.6.19

“Yoga practice is like an obstacle race; many obstructions are purposely put on the way for us to pass through. They are there to make us understand and express our own capacities.“ -Sri Swami Satchidananda

If you’ve ever been curious about the more advanced inversion poses or even actively practice them, this class is for you! Come join us as our instructor Aimee Tillman walks us through the proper form and practice drills for working towards a more solid inversion foundation, followed by Savasana.

Aimee Tillman is a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher trained under Emery Bryant Yoga. Her practice started in 2013 and she became certified to teach in 2017.

“I was introduced to my first advanced inversion in 2014 at the YMCA, Tripod. A year later my knees got courage to lift, Tripod Headstand. Then crow. Then headstand. Then forearm stand. Then handstand. Although yoga isn’t ‘what poses you can do’, it is absolutely a way to challenge yourself. You won’t master a pose the first time, almost never does this happen. Time and persistence are our best teachers, and I hope that all I have to share with you helps you move past some stubborn road blocks in your way.”

What you will need:
Pen
Paper
Mat (available to borrow at the studio if you don’t Have your own)

All levels welcome! No prior experience required.

4.12.19

Join us for an evening with Philip Shepherd, author of Radical Wholeness! This talk is centered around why anxiety, alienation, and a sense of disconnection are inevitable outcomes of our cultural messaging – and what you can personally do about it. Here's a one-minute clip that introduces his work, which he calls TEPP – The Embodied Present Process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYJsbu9pAug&feature=youtu.be

Philip Shepherd has gained an international reputation as a teacher whose breadth of vision and original exercises enable people to escape the enclosed chatter of the head, and ground their thinking in the calm, deep-dwelling intelligence of the body. His workshop provides tools to last a lifetime, even as it gently opens the door to a radical experience of wholeness.

a new space on a historic street

Photo taken by Cindy Grace of Imaginational

Sangha (Song-ah) is the Sanskrit word for community. We aim to establish a safe space for individuals and the community to grow mindfully together through the practice of Yoga, Ayurveda, and conscientious buying.

How do we do that?

Yoga
We offer safe, thoughtful yoga classes for the beginner and seasoned yogi. Because we have a number of classes to choose from, we know you'll find a teacher who speaks to you. In addition to classes, we offer childcare.

Ayurveda:
Dive into India's 5,000-year-old medicine through workshops and personal consultations. Learn how to balance your life with this preventative medicine.

Shoppe
At Sangha, we strive to connect the community by supporting local artists, farmers and companies. We believe if you're going to invest your money in something, it's important to be mindful about it. When we're not able to source our merchandise from our area, we make sure the companies we support share our love for awareness, sustainability and community growth.
