Transition into Fall with grace through the
5 Day Ayurvedic Cleanse
Date: October 3-7, 2016
As we journey into Fall, take five days to slow down and ground yourself. If you're feeling signs of fatigue, indigestion, inflammation, anger, headaches, constipation, diarrhea, food allergies, or bloating, these symptoms can be your body letting you know it’s time to take a break and have a gentle cleanse.
The week before the cleanse we'll work to elimitate some crutches you may have in your diet (caffeine, heavy meat consumption, sugars- etc.). You'll take this week to prep and get ready for the following week's cleanse. A Facebook group will be started to communicate and help support you in the weeks leading up to and following the cleanse.
Over this five day Fall cleanse, Alex Maurer, Ayurvedic Health Counselor and owner of Sangha, will provide you with simple Ayurvedic recipes to allow your system to rest. Through the five days, you'll take notice of your body becoming more balanced. You'll begin to crave foods that are suitable for your digestion instead of things that bring you out of balance. However, it's not only about your body and food. In Ayurveda, we work to balance the body, mind, soul and senses. With this cleanse we will address all four of these aspects. Each day, you'll take time to do your daily routine, journal, exercise/yoga, and cook simple clean foods. You'll take time to get away from overstimulating technology and turn inward. (Because of this, the Facebook group will be deactivated for the 5 days!) Unlike most cleanses which deplete your system, this cleanse is based upon the idea of nourishing your body to restore it.
The week following the cleanse, we'll work to identify how you truely feel. Instead of having a large celebration meal the night after the cleanse (which may shock your system)... you'll slowly bring back foods into your diet. The Facebook group will be reactivated in order to support you and to communicate with other cleansers to see how your 5 days went.
